Josef Mantl

For a long time the role in the world of America and Europe together was to represent and indeed demand the values of the French Revolution and human rights with respect to the rest of the world. Yet the latest developments on both sides of the Atlantic have confronted us with the obligation vehemently to defend these values just as much against internal enemies as against external ones. Populists, fake news and social frictions threaten the cohesion of the western world and it will be our task to build bridges again and look to the future together.
